Classes of membership

A member of the Guild shall be a person who has applied for membership on a form approved by the Committee, paid the approved subscription fee for the current financial year and agreed to abide by this Constitution and By-laws.

Individual membership

New Members $50.00

Full Membership $70.00

Ordinary Membership:

Standard membership is available to all individuals who meet the Guild’s membership requirements.

Honorary Membership:

May be awarded at the discretion of the Committee.

Family membership

Family Membership $110.00

Family Membership Guidelines

Eligibility and Voting:

Open to all members of a household.
The household has one collective vote.
Individuals under 16 years are not eligible for Guild membership but can be included in a family membership.

Committee Membership:

If two or more adults from one family membership are nominated and elected to the Committee, each will receive an independent vote for their term of office.

Responsibilities:

Parents are responsible for their children’s conduct on Guild premises, at Guild functions, and during Guild activities.
Members under a family membership can hire equipment and borrow library books.
Parents/guardians must oversee the borrowing and returning of any books or equipment used by children in the family membership.

Participation:

Children may participate in Guild activities without a parent if they have the consent of other Guild members involved and at the discretion of the Committee.

Affiliated Group membership

UNDER 15 MEMBERS

Affiliate Group under 15 Members $130.00

OVER 15 MEMBERS

Affiliate Group over 15 Members $200.00

Affiliated Group Membership Requirements

Affiliated group membership is open to pre-existing groups that meet the following criteria:

Association Structure:
- The group must be an association, whether incorporated or not.
- The group must have a name, a contact officer, and the contact details of that officer.
Objectives:
- The group’s objectives must align with or be consistent with those of the Guild.
Acceptance by the Guild:
- The group must be accepted by the Guild’s Committee based on:
  - Having a specific interest relevant to the Guild.
  - Being located outside the Adelaide metropolitan area.
  - Serving a particular locality or special interest within the Adelaide metropolitan area
Membership Records:
- The group must maintain a record of its members.
Affiliation Status:
- The group must be formally accepted by the Guild as an “Affiliated Group.”

Membership Fees:

Affiliate groups with 15 or fewer members are entitled to a lower membership fee compared to groups with more than 15 members.

Life membership

Life Membership

Awarded in recognition of long-term or outstanding service to the Guild, life membership entitles the member to full rights of financial membership without the need to pay membership fees. Once awarded, life membership is permanent and will only be revoked under extraordinary circumstances.

Annual and other fees for the various classes of membership shall be recommended by the Committee from time to time and confirmed at a Special General Meeting.
